Kavaratti:
"Attolu Eidu" the island festival organized jointly by Lakshadweep Kala
Academy and South Zone Cultural
Centre, Thanjavur concluded at Kavaratti
Island Lakshadweep
viz Androth, Chetlath,Kadmath, Agatti and Kavaratti. Superintendent of Police,
Lakshadweep Shri Premditya, IPS was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Chairperson, Village (Dweep) Panchayath Smt, Kunhibi Teacher, District Panchayth
Member Shri A.Kunchikoya, Shi M.Koyammakoya, Secrertary, LKA and T.Kasim, Sub
Divisional Officer also addressed the function.
The
artists from the states of Madya Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarath ,
Assam , Pondicherry
and artists from Lakshadweep presented
colourful folk dances in this festival. A large gathering of people including
children witnessed the function.
The
"Attolu Eidu-2012" island festival was inaugurated by our Hon'ble
Member of Parliament Shri Hamdullah Sayeed on 15th February, 2012 at Androth Island Lakshadweep to understand the
various cultures of our great nation and this promote national integration.
